The Junior Artists Club tried their hands at cutting out images of popular cartoon characters.

Boat trouble

 

In '92  I bought a boat

I was so made up I didn’t half gloat.

It was made of wood

And twenty foot long.

It didn’t cost much,

I got it for a song.

The rotten wood it didn’t half stink

And the missed out holes it made him sink.

The final touch was the rest of the boaters

They had a good laugh cos they all had floaters!

European Week for Waste Awareness

The children of the Junior Artists Club spent time coming up with ideas on how to reuse Pot Noodle containers and Milk bottles, before sending them to be recycled. The children came up with ideas for Reusing Pot Noodle pots including using them as skittles, flowerpots, cup&ball games, and telephones!

The Reuse of the plastic milk bottles included, Scoops, toys (halloween bats), glue pots,& water holder for their paint brushes. They also created a stunning artwork that promoted Reuse and Reduce by creating an Iris pattern of recycled birthday wrapping paper (courtesy of Holly).

They then hosted an afternoon of information, quizzes, and making things using recycled materials. Visitors spent an enjoyable afternoon finding out about Reusing and Reducing waste and joining in the games.

Halewood Country Show 2012

We had a great day at yesterday's Halewood Country Show. There was a last minute change of venue due to the Meadow being knee deep in water! We had to hot foot it around to The Arncliffe Park area, which was dry and had a car park.

The sun came out and we were hot hot hot in our marquee.

There was lots to see and do, with the children being really well cared for. Archery, Climbing Wall, Circus Skills, and Lots and lots of creepy crawly animals and snakes to look at and hold!

Our recycling family art workshop went down a storm, and we were last to pack up!

All the flowers and windmills were different with the children adding their own finishing touches.

There was also a really interesting stall showcasing corn dolly making, wish we had time to try making some for ourselves!

The Dog Show was a big crowd pleaser and the Falcons were dramatic. Halewood Community Choir added a musical element to the proceedings.
